Link works but couldn't find the car in the 43 Mercedes for sale. Probably senility on my part.

I'll not dispute it Logi. Seven days a week sorting Hi-Jet problems by phone, text or email is enough to turn anyone senile.

Agree with you Ryan.
Only thing is I think its a certainty that NO Hi-Jet model will will last 74 years and still be running well and not show much body rot as a Thomas Jones Woodward model.

Re: Hey, Woooody
Its a nice idea spreading stuff on to stop the rust, but once its started it never stops.
And most importantly bodyshells rot from the inside out.
So you get 2 options really:-
1) Spread it all over the inside of the inner arches from behind the interior cards - which will block up the drain holes, making it rust even more on a bigger scale.
2) Or you just waste your life painting it onto the inner arches deluding yourself it will make a difference.
Either way, it means you get the crap all over your hands every time you work on your car.
I quite like schutz underseal, it does a good job of hiding my crow shit welding jobs.

Re: Hey, Woooody
Troo dat. I've recently finished welding up the chassis of my landrover. It had been treated with Waxoil on the outside, but the inner surfaces were left. Looked nice on the outside but 43 years of corrosion ended up being swept into two builders buckets. Plus the waxoil was a royal bugger to clean off prior to letting in the new metal. It has been treated with a couple of coats of Rustkote and chassis black until I stump up the courage to buy a galv chassis and do the swap.HighlyJetted wrote:Its a nice idea spreading stuff on to stop the rust, but once its started it never stops.
