where is the compliance plate?

Hi Guys,

First time poster looking for a little help.

Would anyone be able to tell me where the compliance plate should be on a 1999 Hijet pickup?.

This is the car im talking about....



If anyone could help out, perhaps even with a photo of the location?......it would be greatly appreciated.

The only plate I know if is under the drivers seat

Do you mean the Euro type approval compliance plate?

I think they don't have one, and thus in the UK they need an SVA (IVA) test to become road legal - which is easily passed - you will need a fog light adding.

But don't take my word as gospel as I've never registered a late spec hijet - or any hijet for that matter.

The vehicle is a 1999 hijet, released in Japan.

I need to try and explain to someone where to find it, and as they say, a picture speaks a thousand words! ....

Are you in Australia? Cos thats what the vin plate is called there?

I live in Australia but am trying to import a vehicle from Thailand.

I am trying to explain to the Thai owner that without a vin the car is useless to me, and in turn am trying to explain to him where he should be able to find it.

Its under the drivers seat, behind the top strut mount, chassis number is stamped into the panel at the front of the hole.

I'm still having trouble explaining the location of the compliance plate to this chap.

Would there be a chance of anyone possibly posting a photo of the area under the seat where the compliance plate is?. Something that easily shows the location?
