I plan to load a reasonably large motorbike (VFR750) into my Hijet in the week.

Anybody have experience of doing similar? Any tips to share?

Thing most of us have had at least 1 bike at some time in the back of a Hijet.

You have to put them at a bit of an angle to get the tail gate closed.

That's about it!

Sweet, thanks. Everyone who's seen the van has told me I'll never get a bike in the back. This gives me some hope!

I got my mates CBR 1000 RR track bike in the back of mine. Front wheel behind the driver seat, back wheel opposite corner. Fitted perfect. But watch for the hieght too. We had to push down on the screen slightly to get it in the door.

CBR600
DT125
ZZR400/600

All in the back - not at the same time though Smile

Yes - WTF? Why can't you ride the bloody things rather than having to carry them?

Nah, but by the time the owner finds out I'll be long gone!

Just kidding, the bike is mine, I'm going to a trackday at Cadwell (5 hours from me) this weekend and didn't really fancy riding there and back.

Back from Cadwell safe and sound, the bike never missed a beat.

The van:
- main beam works about 25% of the time, and just cuts lights entirely the other 75%; very scary; I suspect a dicky connection in the switch
- definitely needs a thermostat, it is freezing in there
- the battery can barely turn the engine over if the lights are on and the satnav is plugged in

Got some work to do then!

None at the moment, I'm looking to buy a spares or repairs bike from somewhere but the only means of transport is my little hijet :-) I really miss my bandit, it was nice being able to 70 mph ;-)

I recommend putting it in backwards. Try it front wards by all means but having the seat unit over where the passenger seat goes really makes it fit better. I actually took a passenger and a bike in the van the other day! Passenger was a bit cramped but it was alright...

Depends on what you are loading, naked bikes i put straight in and the wheel between the seats, most faired stuff fits at an angle frontways. Can still fit a passenger in as well. w Much easier getting a bike up the ramp frontways if you're yourself.
