HJ tried the hydraulic trick, had to use heat
mole grips and brute force to win the buggers

I use the hydraulic power of the brake pedal, but with the engine running so you've got the brake booster helping, and literally stand on the brake pedal.

Then I hit on the calliper housing with a hammer and the shock plus the applied pressure makes them let go.

Well done on the MOT!!

Must say i find the calipers on the Jet shittyer than most for seizing, spent a good bit of time stripping and cleaning mine, tho.as my van has lived by the seaside this may explain it?
I made a wee tool out of a brake banjo bopt and a metal tyre valve, brill thing for removing stuck pistons( admittedly a wee bitty dangerous when they pop, always cover with a cloth) but makes life much easier( no help wi the pins tho)

a long bolt through them clamp whats left of

My mate showed me avery easy way to get the pins out, after I had snapped off all but half inch of the pin.
DON'T clamp the caliper in a vice and get a pair of mole grips or similar on the pin.
Clamp the pin in the vice and gently rock the caliper.

It worked instantly
