Collisions!!!

Picked up an "engine" tonight, engine in the loosest terms as it didn't run.

Anyway, just went to get it out of the boot of the van, but I couldn't help myself:-

Pistons hits valves, which are now bent.






Forgot to take a photo of the pistons but they are marked too

My diagnosis....

Oil was long long over due, possibly many times.
Cam has Started to weld to the head due to oil starvation
Cam belt has jumped some teeth
Pistons hit valve - valves lost the war and got bent
Try to started it up - seized solid

Cure...

Weigh it in for scrap

So that's basically two engines I've handled in the same day with the same fault  

A rub down with some emery paper and polish the valves Matt and I am sure it will be fine ,

Rub down with an angle grinder by a blind man  

That'll polish out......

Black treacle or what? What a picture of disasters. I won't ask where it came from.     

Yes it came from me, got the van as a none runner, I can see why it never ran

So I think it can be safely assumed that they are an interference engine.

Just to make sure know one thinks less of Dino, this was free to me to see if I could find anything worth using.
