My interior plastics are looking really tired can anyone recommend a decent paint that will take well to the plastic. Also want to do the bumpers. Has anyone done this?

Re: plastic paint.
Use a plastic primer hellfords own brand is ok and then any spray can from the same make. I've painted a fair few plastic bits this way and not had a problem not tried on hijet plastics a clean and rub over with wet and dry or wire wool is essential.

Interesting, are either of these suitable for bumpers. Fancy colour coding.

Steve if you talk to Melboy ( private message ) he has painted ALL the plastic on his Hi-Jet SE with black paint -- he told me at the weekend when he ordered some bits for it. WOODY.

Re: plastic paint.
There is a specific paint for colour coding bumpers , but you find the black option at most motor factors , I have painted what was the grey trim on my van to black using the black bumper spray .
Make sure you prep it well or you will be re painting again soon .
Cheers

Re: plastic paint.
I just use a plastic etching primer, then any standard compatible paint.
Just don't lay them on too thick or they will crack as the plastic flexes.

Re: plastic paint.
The only issue with spraying interiors is if they get scratched afterwards it'll look even worse.

No, that is not flock.
That is Logi's bedroom carpet...his Mrs wasn't too happy when she moved the bed and found a gaping hole where the carpet once was .

Re: plastic paint.
LOL That photo brings back some memories . When I was a kid the man next door had a Robin Reliant with the exact same interior , at some point during a drive out he had a cigarette end drop off and it caught fire after he parked it on his drive . LOL . His car was a puddle of plastic and melted alloy on a metal frame .
cheers

Re: plastic paint.
there are many good plastic primers and paints available with varying degrees of finishes, in my experience there is no substitute for good prep work so what ever product/s you decide to use make sure you spend time cleaning and keying the areas for painting and you should get a nice clean long lasting finishsimmo116 wrote: My interior plastics are looking really tired can anyone recommend a decent paint that will take well to the plastic.
