Main steering pin

Hi
The steering has started to creak quite badly when on hard lock
I have greased the main center pin but cant see any grease points at the wheel end
does any one know if there is anything serviceable inside the main pin or at the wheel end

Yep, top strut bearing units will be the cause, one of the will have knackard bearings.

Is there really no source for new bearings?

I have taken them apart, cleaned and regreased, how long they will last I cant say

Don't daihatsu sell them any more or something?

lol no, i dont have a hijet yet but just found it a bit worrying that you cant get the basic parts. How much are you looking at for a strut top bearing from the dealer then roughly? Or any other parts you know the prices for off hand?

Search for compatible or modify will be the only option methinks.....
