My £125 Hi-Jet MPV
Well headed off to pick up my latest purchase 5 miles from my Workshop and got into Shanklin only to see Blue flashing lights and Orange flashing lights.
Somebody in T reg Toyota was in the middle of having his impounded car loaded on a Transporter.
As it was too late to phone Roadrunner to put it on the Insurance Database I decided to go the long way back round with my son leading in his car. Got about 3 miles and turned left at cross roads and what should be sat at the right hand road waiting to come across the junction ?
Yep you got it -- a Fiesta Lemon Curd Sandwich with two Police men in it . Oh damn!! Bound to get a tug now as I still had 3 miles to go back to the workshop. Had the freshly signed V5 on the seat with me. Any moment expecting to see the Blue's go on --- but no. Got back to my Workshop turn off and they went sailing by. Couldnt believe it. Mind you I have lived on the Island since 1974 and I have been stopped JUST 3 TIMES !!! The last time about 3years ago after 1am so not too surprising.
Any-way the "R" reg MPV drives well and rad hardly lost any water and the heater was still working . Seats are tidy and a newish CD radio and centre console and neither sun roofs leak and even the roller blinds work -well fronts do - havent tried the back ones. Needs a couple of tyres . Bit of silver paint fallen off - as Silver seems to do.
Altogether a good buy. Am well pleased with it . Better than I thought it would be. Just need to nick the Radiator from the SE and run it out for an MoT
and see what it needs. Not this week though -- too much to do. Too many with New Builds wanting Alwitra covered Flat Roofs done. I'm knackered.

Re: My £125 Hi-Jet MPV
Bit of a sore point that isnt it Logi ? I haven't had the chance today to take some pictures of either the SE or the Silver MPV .
At the moment between roofing jobs I am finishing clearing my yard to comply with the Planning Enforcement Order by the 12th of this month. If I don't they can take me to court and impose big fines.
I have got 3 Romahomes left to get moved by then and then I am home and dry ---I hope.
I am putting up 8ft high fencing and that's what we have been on today -- concreting in concrete posts, then on Friday build the close boarding.
Will take some pictures tomorrow or Thursday.
I opened her up this morning -- turned the key and she instantly burst into life so am well pleased with it. The paint on the roof has that rust colour that so many of the Silver ones seem to suffer from.
Thanks once again for your dry comments on here Logi. Quite often gives me some of the best laughs of the day.

Hi Logi, despite a crazy tiring day doing 3 roofs all round the Island I got to the Garage and gave the latest Beast a washdown and its has come up pretty damn good. I have taken quite a few pictures of her. OK if I email them and you put them on again ? To be honest with you I havent even tried another go at the Photo-Bucket thingamyjig as I just havent the time or the patience -- with this Council Planning issue coming up a week today I have been working damn hard on that and the roofing too.
Hopefully after next weeekend I can unwind a bit and have another go. Just could not figure out what I am doing wrong. Anyway Paul will bring his computer over and we will go through step by step the detailed Destructions that Rich sent me and hopefully should crack it. Now I have the problem of finding your Email address to send to. I have downloaded all the pictures from the camera ready to go anyway. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Re: My £125 Hi-Jet MPV
My silver one had peeling paint like that, wonder if that paint was a bit crap.
I think that one is a 993cc if my guess is right.
Wonder what the screw points round all the windows were about?

Re: My £125 Hi-Jet MPV
Yes I was baffled by that one too so I asked the chap I bought it off and he was none the wiser too so sorry cant throw any light on that one HJ.
Will be sending pictures of the Blue SE tonight so hopefully they will be on sometime tonight . Brungle has kindly volunteered to do that for this hopeless Old Fart. ( mind you Logi is !4 years older than me and HE can do it AND has got an even more acerbic wit than me .
I HATE HIM !!!
I have found out ( in theory ) how the Rear Spoiler comes off HJ so as long as the 10mm nuts aren't rusted on I will have your trophy off on Friday.

You are too young to know about it but Ford in the late 60's had the same problem with Mk 2 Cortina's ( Silver Fox and Fern Green both fell off due to a problem with the primer ) For some reason Silver paints do seem prone to this peeling off problem.

It is a HEART shaped Pink coloured bolt on " Accessory ". I had to leave it on there cos I thought some clown would make a comment about " dont you just love the tailpipe" or something equally daft but no-one has fallen for it. Shame !!!

[quote="HighlyJetted"]I was thinking about the screws......
Maybe it used to be a Riot Van ?![/quote
The only thing I can think of was that in the days before we had Vistaprint and Magnetic Business Signs is that a tradesman owned it and put signs over the windows and used it as a work van.
