Awnings for Hijets?
Hi, has anyone used an awning on their Hijet? What size is the best to get?
Going to try camping, but would like the extra room for the dogs!
Thanks.

Re: Awnings for Hijets?
Hi, we had one years ago, and just got another one yesterday! It's an 04, planning to use it for taking our working dogs out and about.
First job will be to insulate it, don't want to freeze! Then get the ply on, will have to work out how we do that one, our old one was already done. Not doing anything too fancy, just want to be able to sleep in it the odd weekend! Hopefully going to be fun.

The thing you need to watch is the minimum height requirements for the awnings, some are way too tall. The one pictured was actually a tent extension, i have a driveaway now but i can't remember what one it is
I'll need to keep an eye out for you

Thanks, would be good to have the extra room to fling stuff in. We're just going to take our time getting it ready and hopefully it will turn out ok!

Well if theres 2 of you & dogs itll be cosy without one! Hell its cosy with 1. Realistically I just sleep in the van, everything else is in the awning.
Just need.some decent weather now.......

Had a look at the easycamp Daytona, looked a good size, but it's 280cm wide, think it's going to be to long for the side of the van. Would stick out quite a bit, if my measuring is up to scratch! LOL.

Re: Awnings for Hijets?
the vans are just over 3m as ours sticks out slightly when behind our 3m market stall.
