So the eggbox on wheels that is yet to be named went in for MOT today and PASSED!!!! has 3 advisories

1. worn tyre
2. headlamp deteriorated
3. O/S front chaissis rail corroded

So how big a job is the third one whats the best places to source parts in the south east?

Cheers all in advance (I did warn you all I'd be a pain)

Call it Eggy? Whereabouts in the SE are you?

Highlyjetted might have a headlamp for sale, but that's been an advisory on one of mine for at least the last 2 MOT's. Corrosion is an advisory so I'd wait till it warms up a bit - welders will be happier to get stuck in when they don't freeze to the concrete floor. Get the tyre done ASAP though, and if it's a van rather than a MPV it should have 6-ply or 8-ply tyres rather than the usual 4-ply for a car. Might not make any difference except to a picky insurance assessor if it's been a factor in a prang.

Pretty much all the 2nd hand headlights you'll find will be the same.

The chrome peels off the inside.

Get a spare pair of crap ones to do in your leisure:-

Put them in the oven to soften lense glue,

Peel lenses of with some plastic scrapers and oven gloves,

peel all the flaking fake chrome off the inside, sand them back, key the surface and spray them with some chrome in a can.

If it is in the front chassis rail it will be in the bracket mount that you can't get to properly I welded ours up and then larupped loads of paint and silicon sealent then loads of paint as cannot plate it without loads of work so pigeon shitted it to hold it all together.
