Choice of alloys.
According to WHEELBASE, on their web page, there seems to be plenty of choice for our vans.
What is the 'offset' we need?
http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/daihatsu_hi_jet___SS9_Hi*Jet*_1163_0
There was once a time where I would've been happy with any set of alloys.....
Now....I just can't make me mind-up

Re: Choice of alloys.
Sorry to burst yer bubble Try emailing them, none of their alloys are 4x110, they're listing 4x108s with wobble nuts. Which are dodgy cos only the fronts are hubcentric and without a centre spigot to hold the rears they will move on hitting that rarest of items on our roads, a pothole .
If it was that easy i'd have told you

Re: Choice of alloys.
He's speaks the truth....
For example, if you look at the manufacturers web site for all the Dezent wheels, you'll find not a single one is manufactured in PCD 4x110 - for example the V Dark:-
Then you can look at the Autec catalogue on the manufactures website herehttp://www.autec-wheels.de/fileadmin/webdata/downloads/kataloge/RP_Tabellen_W2012.pdf and again you will not find a single wheel they manufacture in PCD4x110.

Re: Choice of alloys.
My wheels alone cost £70, then add 4 tyres and fitting etc and your over £200 anyway.
Re: Choice of alloys.
I've just a lovely set of alloys for mine. There 108 though so using the dreaded wobble nuts. Can't see to much of an issue with wheels once there on. There's a big enough service are for wheels to bolt to once there on

Re: Choice of alloys.
But there is no centre spigot on the rear.
How do you even bolt them up perfectly central in the first place if your using variation nuts without some form of centring spigot

Re: Choice of alloys.
I suggest getting your steels banded. Way cooler anyway

Love the style of the K&N's....just not sure on 12" wheels, was thinking of 14" wheels .

Get yer wallet ready then1!
You can get 14's from Tyresave,
We can offer genuine Minilite alloys, again production will be some time in
the New Year, and price for black and Hilite is £470 for 4.
Copied from the email i got.
They're available, are you willing to blow the dosh?

Re: Choice of alloys.
Your going to need to get some very low profile tyres on 14's to not rub on the front arches.
Re: Choice of alloys.
Mmmmmm, maybe I should go for them K&N's then....just thought they'd look a bit small......but maybe they'd look cool as fcuk .

Re: Choice of alloys.
Would need to be Minilites, K&N aren't making specials, the first bit of the email reads;
The KN Factory has been taken over and it is unlikely they will be making
any more unless they get orders for at least 100 castings.
165/60/14's would be suitable but by then you're looking at close to £700!
12's look cheap now don't they

Re: Choice of alloys.
think they were 165/60/14's I had on mine for a week or two and they didn't scrub.

Re: Choice of alloys.
My 155 80 12 tyres scrub a tiny bit when I brake round tight turns. They just catch the edge of the door. It's only minor though.
Re: Choice of alloys.
If memory serves correctly Piaggio use 165/65R14 on their Porter Maxxi so I would presume that to be the best bet so as not to affect gearing or speedo readings too much.

If you use a 108mm PCD, the studs are 12mm and the clearence around the hole on a ford wheel is 2mm on the diameter which means the studs centralise the wheel by touching on the outside edges of the holes and work fine I currently have a pair of ford escort van wheels on the rear of our MPV but the centre holes are to small for the front wheels.
Re: Choice of alloys.
Used to have 4x100 alloys on a Seicento(4x98) without spigot rings. Hit a pothole and it moved, as seen by the wheel hitting the caliper. First and last time i used wobble bolts.

Re: Choice of alloys.
I'm not using wobble nuts just the standard ones on backwards as I don't want bent studs but I am using steels not alloys.

That sounds a bit ghetto to me.
I sure wouldn't do a night rally with that sort of engineering holding my wheels on.
I could see us hitting a jump somewhere and ending up rolling on brake disks!
Re: Choice of alloys.
It's only on the rears and plenty of cars use flat nuts I have had no probs like it and have done several weeks to work and back through pot holed country lanes and a 130 mile round trip on the M25.
Re: Choice of alloys.
To give you an idea of the rolling circumference and radius....
(multiply radius by 2 if you want diameter for those crap with maths)
Numbers are layed out like this:-
Width / Ratio / Wheel size = circumference mm / Radius mm
For 12" Wheels
165 / 65 / 12 = 1584 / 252
175 / 65 / 12 = 1624 / 258
155 / 80 / 12 = 1686 / 268 ~ On my 12 inch alloys, get occasion rub on very tight turns but could be due to wheel offset
165 / 75 / 12 = 1685 / 268
155 / 82 / 12 = 1705 / 271 ~ Standard 155r12c with very large off set standard narrow wheels
175 / 75 / 12 = 1730 / 275
For 13" Wheels
155 / 65 / 13 = 1622 / 258
165 / 65 / 13 = 1661 / 264
175 / 65 / 13 = 1701 / 271
175 / 70 / 13 = 1754 / 279 ~ Logan runs these and claims a bit of rubbing on full lock
185 / 70 / 13 = 1797 / 286 ~ Currently on my hijet pickup but undrivable due to rubbing (and lack of completeness)
For 14" Wheels
155 / 55 / 14 = 1605 / 255
165 / 55 / 14 = 1638 / 261
155 / 65 / 14 = 1699 / 270
165 / 65 / 14 = 1739 / 277
165 / 65 / 14 = 1739 / 277 ~ Porter Maxxi as per car specification from brochure
For 15" Wheels
155 / 55 / 15 = 1682 / 268
165 / 55 / 15 = 1716 / 273
155 / 65 / 15 = 1777 / 183
165 / 65 / 15 = 1816 / 289
So at a guess, you need to keep below a diameter of about 1700mm maybe 1750mm max.
But the offset of the wheels will have a major impact on arch rubbing and catching on the bottom corner of the door.
