Nice, although I'd imagine they'd greatly increase your turning circle, and they really could have done with proof reading their blurb before publishing it.

I'm not so sure they'd work that great, nice idea but might be harder to pull off than expected.
Re: Ohhh I soooooooo want this!!!!!
Do you mean harder than the wheels spinning and no movement like I had in our car park the other day Clare had to push it out I would have helped as I had the jet in gear with no throttle and the wheel(s) still spinning but knowing my luck we would have found grip and another car before I could get back in.
Re: Ohhh I soooooooo want this!!!!!
and they are designed for 4x4's which normally have a low ratio box which would compensate for the extra load and gearing.

Re: Ohhh I soooooooo want this!!!!!
My concerns would be one breaking away from the tyre, it'd rip the car to shreds. Or say the track jammed up - it would try and go round the wheel arch.
It's a very nice idea, and it would offer some great increase in surface area/traction.

Re: Ohhh I soooooooo want this!!!!!
I would assume there is some breakaway system as for the lock up it would rotate the car as the diff would let the wheel stop while bring the other round.

I'm a sceptical old git!
I could also see it putting a load more stress on your hubs, ball joints, wheel bolts/studs etc
Let alone those metal rods with the gripper studs in that take the drive from the tyres are going to spank your tyres in no time.
It's a very cool invention and fabrication project! And from the video it seems to work really well.
Marketing wise, its not like they'd just fit in your boot to use when you need them. They look like they might be pretty heavy too.
So they are for serious snow climates, where it would probably just be easier to own a tracked vehicle or a ski-doo.

I suspect that it's based on the american toy of off roading and having a month of snow without the need for another car/snowmobile and It just has the cool factor of not getting stuck and being able to show your mates up when they drop theirs in the ditch.
