"locking part" of a fuel cap Empty "locking part" of a fuel cap

Post by Manuel_nl Wed Dec 12, 2012 11:38 pm

I don't know how the previous owner did it but he broke the part that actually locks the fuel cap.
It's a easy job to replace if you have the spare part or a complete fuel cap so I can exchange the lock.
I photoshopped the part, with the red border that is broken and is missing.
This is the part I need.

Second hand I can understand but a new one is easy. I just don't want to spend GBP 25,-- because it's not that urgent.

Yeah, I had to fix my old one cos the new ones don't fit properly, not unless your body builder type strength to push and turn it to get it on!

Manuel is that just a flat piece of metal? Could you use a metal saw and make one out of a sheet of copper or brass or something?

We have a Piaggo Porter dealer called Marrewijk in Holland with a nice webshop.

https://www.apewebshop.nl/index.php?item=porter&action=page&group_id=27&lang=EN

As far as I know the Hijet and the Porter are just the same. The website has got clear pictures.
The fuelcap I have is from a Porter 1.3 which is different comparred to the Hijet 993cc.

@daisudon You are right. I'm going to try to remake it.
