Speaker placement
Hi all.
My Hijet has never had a stereo, and has one crap JVC speaker poorly wired into the passenger door.
I have a nice Sony head unit from my old car laying around, and also some decent Pioneer 6x9 speakers.
The head unit will be going in, but I can't see a sensible way of fitting the speakers in. I don't want to compromise load space by putting them in a box in the back.
Has anyone got any ideas? Or should I just get some new speakers that will fit in the doors?

I had a similar problem. I solved it by buying a pair of 'pod' speakers which come with a 'U' shaped bracket. I removed the first roof hoop and mounted the brackets onto the hoop slightly inwards from the end angle before refitting. Then run the wiring and fit the speakers to the brackets. They sit high up out of the way of the loading area and your head.

I think I'm leaning more towards putting them in the doors. I want to make some new door cards anyway as I really don't like the standard grey ones, so that'll give me opportunity to make a slightly bigger hole for the 6x9s. Still don't have a stereo in there yet anyway. I want to put a 7" tablet in the dash as well, just lacking in time and money at the moment

If you are fitting new speakers to the doors be careful that the back of the speaker doesn't foul the window mechanism. Apparently it's a common occurrence :-)
Re: Speaker placement
As I had plenty of MDF lying around, I made speaker spacers for my 6.5'' Rockford Fosgate speakers.......same as these ....... https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/173392097432?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Da56080a8b55d41b39612fa98f0bb4966%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D173216059633%26itm%3D173392097432

Also used Roof Flashing Tape to line the inside of the doors and all panels in the rear, stops the resonance of the panels ...works in the same way as the much more expensive 'Dynamat' products, but much much cheaper.
