Recently purchased a 2004 hijet 1.3, front end damage . paid £255 so can afford to mess about with it.. It is a runner and drivable but only to drive on and off a trailer as the rad is damaged

Front stripped , dent pushed out with a power ram, then a slide hammer was used to
get back as much profile as possible, a skim of fibre filler was used to get a basic shape
then polyester filler was used to achieve the required shape

fitted a Honda civic 3 core rad , had to widen the channel as the rad is thicker than the original. used the original hangers but had to re-drill the front mount holes but added a bracket to pick up the original floor holes.

The jobs on hand at the moment are: final prepping of the front ready for colour , taking the dash back out to connect the heater fan plug, doh.... and removed the drivers door glass as its come off the runner clamps

yet again another part that was supplied with the van 'to repair ' is damaged.. the grill supplied had one of the lower locating lugs broken off, being as it needed spraying i decided to repair it, made a lug out of aluminium ( used the good one as a template )
riveted and bonded in place then built it up with resin
and then sprayed...

Has it got the top clips that hold it to the van?

the headlights supplied with the van to replace the damaged one were no good , too much of the reflector had deteriorated. I have managed to repair the drivers side light which has a very good reflector. as for the passenger one it had slight reflector damage but i have use a paint bud and some chrome paint and touched it up. seems to be ok

couldn't connect the rad up as the hose joining tube hasn't arrived yet... Then i noticed a Momo steering wheel hanging up in the garage which was on a Honda civic I'd bought for its engine.... So spent the evening with modifying it to fit the van, after a few trial and errors got it all sorted , ended up having to open out the column cover hole to allow the adapter to contact the horn terminal. also managed to get the indicator cancel to work on it.

I assume the light comes on and taped to stop annoying. Could be an easy fix as apparently the float comes out of its tube sometimes but... requires the tank to be dropped to get at it and some of the pipes can be rusty so do it when you do t have much fuel in. You can’t not fix it now you have done so well so far.
The window is an easy enough fix, just clean up the plastic brackets that hold the glass then glue them back to the glass with PolyUrethane adhesive I.e Tiger Seal etc. I did try Gorilla glue...rubbish....Tiger Seal just the job, not had an issue since.

im not the kind of guy who starts screaming "thats illegal" directly
but i dont think tinting those windows is a good idea
besides what the police might think of it its verry dangerous

ive done it to in the past and removed it because i almost killed som people on bicycles
they were riding them at night without lights and didnt see them because of my dark tint
and another thing you have eyecontact with a lot of the other traffic when lets say a car or bike or a pedastrian comes to you from the side... he/she wont be able to see you with those windows

offcourse those people on bikes should have their lights on but i think you will still feel verry bad after you put somebody in a wheelchair
no matter if you were in the right or not.
go drive it at night outside of town without streetlights and then tell me you still feel its a good idea
