Appreciating Hijet Values
Its amazing what some owners think they can get for a van today. When I bought the Gopher a couple of years ago it cost me £350, it was a good runner and came with a new MOT certificate. It's still my daily driver. This example is currently on ebay for £500 and is partly stripped.

I didn't realise that I was making such a fine investment given the way Hijet vans appear to be appreciating in value in the current market (makes me wonder if my wee van isn't worth a couple of grand now).

Re: Appreciating Hijet Values
Hang onto anything long enough and it'll appreciate in value. Once there are more bums than seats the prices rise.

Re: Appreciating Hijet Values
Funnily enough GEORDIE I have for the past 15 years had a habit of Accumulating Hi-Jets as many of the longer standing members will know and be grateful for too, for keeping their Hi-Jets on the road. At one time I had 27 Daihatsu's in my yard. Crikey, what that lot would be worth now.
Also quite a few people around the world too that I have helped with spare parts when I took over running Matt's Hi-Jet Website. It was the second busiest listed site on Google and business was utterly manic. I sent spares as far South, to Hobart in Tasmania, to North Alaska, all over America, to Hawaii, Philippines, Macedonia, and even enquiries from JAPAN!!! I never sent anything there as most of the enquiries were for the home market 660cc models.
I have at present I have still got for breaking, three 1300 Pickups, two with good engines, one of them being an LPG version, a Dirty Diesel 1.2 with a very good engine ( if there was ever such a thing as a good Lombardini engined Hi-Jet) and 4 Grand Move 1600' purely for the engines and particularly for the 70amp Alternator and PolyVee drive belt system. I have got 3 1300 vans two of which are V reg and one is LPG, an MPV, also LPG and an 02 plate LPG Van, one owner from new with 78,000 miles on the clock. I have two Tippers, one of which again is an LPG and finally an 05 plate Pick-Up with 34,000 miles and once again LPG. So definitely a few bobs worth of Hi-Jets.
