hi guys and girls,
i am trying to help somebody out with getting some wheels for his hijet.
but i am struggeling to find the exact sizes on the site.
the info is spread all over the forum

pcd 4x110

Center Bore: 66.1 mm ?
Lug Size: M12 x 1.5 ?
Wheel Fasteners: Lug nuts
offset: 40 ??
width standard wheel: 4,5J ??

does that also mean you have to buy M12x1.5 size woble nuts to fit 4x108?

Hi Scotia. Hope this helps. Hi-Jet wheel dimensions are 4 X110 as you correctly say but centre hole is 56.1 or 56.4. Details seem to vary depending on where you look.

If you find a wheel that your friend likes and the centre hole in the wheel is a bit too small, I have used an angle grinder on many occasions to grind away excess metal on the brake disc hub using the grinder to spin the hub and grind enough metal away for the wheel fit over the hub. I don't even remove the studs but you have to have a very steady pair of hands, so it is probably better to do that first before Grinding the hub flange bearing housing.

This is an old subject, but the fact is wobble bolts aren't the cleverest thing to use on a Hijet. They are designed to work with hubcentric wheels, whereas the rears on a Hijet are lugcentric. I can't be arsed typing so here's a link Wink

This is my latest information: Standard steel wheel is 12" x 4J, PCD 110, off-set 38 and centre bore 66.1. However, I believe the centre bore is actually 67.1. Yes, you will have to purchase 16 x M12 x 1.5 'wobble' nuts, either steel or high grade alloy. As Logi says, no centre bore on rears, but, according to my local alloy wheel specialist, this is not uncommon.

If you find alloys with too small a centre bore you can have them turned out by your local engineering shop; I was quoted £20 per wheel.

Just been out and measured one of my Alloys. The centre hole that the Hub Lock nut nose protrudes into is 56mm. The Flange ring on the hub that the wheel locates on is 66mm. I can't give you an exact measurement as my digital vernier is too long to fit inside the wheel.

Don't ream out the wheels. Turn the Hub down to suit the wheels.. Easy enough to supply you with a couple of hubs.
But if you come to sell the wheels to fit back on the original vehicle you have ruined the wheels for fitting back on again.

If you are going to be keeping the wheels or selling them to another Hi-Jet owner then it is up to you which way to go. I would always go for turning the hub down to fit the wheels you are putting on. You can then put your old flanges back on to fit the original Hi-Jet wheels.

My local alloy specialist was good enough to try a 13" alloy on my Porter to see if I liked it. I told him the centre bore was 66.1. The alloy wheel had a larger centre bore (72?) so he installed a 72~66.1 reducer, but it did not fit. Then he tried a 72~67.1 reducer and it fitted perfectly.

I mentioned reaming out of the centre bore because I could not find any alloys with larger than 66mm centre bores at the time I was looking. It simply offered a cheapish way to resolve one of the many alloy wheel fitting problems. I didn't have it done.

Must admit I hadn't given a thought to that scenario. All of the wheels I have picked up for Hi-Jet's the Flange location hole has been smaller. 
But yes I have seen adverts on Ebay selling the location rings.

I found beautiful 12 alloy wheels at knightcottmotors.co.uk but I could not find out the price. Can be seen in pictures of the used piaggio porter van

I have found this guy to be quite expensive, for instance he wanted £65 for an ignition coil, £180 for wheel hub (both used!)

I've spoken to the guy at knightcottmotors and he is knowledgeable, very friendly and extremely helpful. I asked about these 12" alloys (very similar to mini-lites) and was shocked at the price. If I recall correctly they worked out, including all the additional bits and bobs, at about £220 a corner PLUS tyre. Apparently he gets these specially made for him. I also priced a genuine Daihatsu/Piaggio headlamp unit (true right hand drive) and these are £250 each. I suppose his headlamps are cheaper than the one my local Daihatsu dealer quoted which was £360 + VAT.
