Does a diesel van radiator fit on a petrol van?
Just a quick question, because my second Hijet doesn't have a radiator anymore and I found one from a diesel van. On the pictures it looks like it's the same shape, but I'm not really sure. My vans are S85 (1995/1996), the radiator was also S85 (year isn't mentioned). So any light that can be shed on this?

If you have a 993cc van the radiator is a good bit smaller than the 1300 radiator which is originally the radiator fitted to the Diesel.
The radiator will fit your 993cc IF you use the whole set of 1300 or diesel mounting brackets. BUT the hoses are very different, quite a smaller diameter and totally different. I had to use bits of metal pipes and assorted rubber hoses that I was fortunate enough to have in my stores-- being bit of a hoarder. It worked well keeping the engine cool.
So whilst it is physically possible to fit the Diesel/1300 16v radiator you will need some enginuity sorting out the hoses.
Sorry forgot to add friendly banter - You old Tart!!

It only costs 20 euro's so I think it's worth the hassle, considering a new one wil cost ten times that... Sounds like an adventure!
You're not only f-ing old, but with that age comes wisdom of course. Thanks!

Don't worry, I'm not asking you to solve the crisis in the Middle-East.

Lex,
You can also give these guys a call: http://www.henkvanolst.nl/
I've been there one month ago and they had 3 hijet's standing over there. Perhaps they can help you as well.

Vlaardingen, correct. I bought it, and it's on the ever growing pile of "things to do". So perhaps next summer there will be a future for the thing.
