As you are only hoping to put the seats in I would not bother but would inform them that it is not a 4x4

i would say that there is no point in telling them about changes that havnt been made yet (you should tell them when its done tho to remain legal) but they need to know its not a 4x4 untill my last renewal i had probloms with every ins co telling me my panel van was an mpv, they used to get quite shirty with me saying "we are directly linked to dvla so we know what your log book says" which was clearly a lie as my log book says its a panel van, it always has been. but i wouldnt have been covered in an accident so would never insure with those companys i always ended up having to go with commercial ins which never covered me on other vehicles. the last renewl aviva finaly got it right and at a good price.

ive got a thread going about simular thing, thay class mine as commercial when it was a mpv but van with side windows on v5,wish i could just take them outside and let them see the mpv at times but the talking phones dont wont to look,
im almost done converting mine as a camper so will try to re-registar it with dvla and see if that helps, there is list around on the web showing what needs to be done and photographed to do this,,,but its dvla so bet it aint that easy lol
To me that is very expensive but I don't know you circumstances.
well over 20 years driving and full no claims discount and never had any claims convictions etc just no one is recognising the van as a panel van not sure if it's because it's lpg or what but I thought that was expensive as well

Debz, have you tried the co-op or the green insurance company. Sometimes it is better to go direct as they are not having to pay a middle man commission
