New Owner...... Empty New Owner......

Post by itsamugsgame Fri Apr 12, 2013 6:53 pm

Hi all.

I have recently bought a Hijet 1.3 on a Y reg. It is the MPV version but I have removed the seats for my work.

It has not been without its problems, mainly niggley things. I bought the van about 3 weeks ago from an address 200 miles away, after driving a Merc estate it was an 'experience'.

Despite its niggles etc I love it! It always puts a smile on my face when I drive it. The 2 biggest problems are that it had a new clutch just before Christmas but it is slipping. I have tried adjusting it but it makes no difference. Secondly my silencer has just gone bang.

I intend to persevere but I reckon that it will be a bumpy journey

What happened with the clutch job?

What it a full 3 piece kit - plate, bearing and cover?

Maybe you have a leaky crank oil seal.

Maybe the flywheel is knackard and should have been replaced.

Who did it? Yourself?

Hello and welcome to the world of odd people who talk Hijet!

Hi.
The clutch was done before I bought the van. I have a receipt from the garage but it is a bit vague.
That said, the cost of the parts alone would indicate that it was a 3 piece kit.
I may give them a call for what its worth...

If you are a half handy kind of guy,

Taking the gearbox out to inspect the clutch is very easy on a Hijet.
