Under seal for winter...
So far the vans bodywork is nice and tidy, no massive rust spots and i'd like to try and keep it that way.
I am looking at under sealing it in clear so i can see any thing that's going untoward. want to get one tin to paint on + one spray can to get the hard to reach bits.
anyone got any tips?

Best giving it a stem cleaning before coating, make sure its all dry and road scum free. Theres a garage near me that charges £80 to prep and wax oil, for the money I can't be arsed to crawl on my back for a day getting dripped on. Its well worth doing though. Hijets dont exactly have the thickest of bodyshells or even a good coat of paint.

is going to power wash it, get under it with a stiff brush and then coat it... or stiff brush 1st.. then wash.. then wax...

I don't know if this is a help but I use a product called "fluid film" in spray cans made from lanolin and works very well...of course as mentioned steam clean it first.

Re: Under seal for winter...
There's always been alot of lively chat about this on the 4x4 forums, some folks reckon that its only worth doing if you do it right from when the vehicle is new, others think some thing is better than nothing. I'm not sure how effective any product would be - but again that depends on how old your van is. I look at it this way, if your going to seal the underside make real sure there is absolutely no corrosion left or the sealer will exasibate the problem you are trying to prevent and speed up the process of rusting as well.
Perhaps you are jut as well to paint the underside with Hammerite and be done with it

I stopped using underseal in favour for hammerite which is rollerble, brushable & sprayable (use normal cellulose thinners) and if you do need to get off to do any work can be sanded, burnt & scraped and don't stink anywhere as near as bad as underseal but if you are bodging for a MOT underseal is great you can even make shapes not that I have ever done this to fool the ministry honest
